Roadside FAQs
To find out if you have Emergency Road Service coverage, you can:
- Check the front of your insurance card for "Coverage H"
- Start your road service request on our website or the State Farm mobile app to verify your coverage
- Log into your State Farm account and view your coverages
- Contact your State Farm Agent
Tow
- Tow service to the nearest repair shop where the necessary repairs can be made if the covered vehicle is not drivable.
- Tow service out of a location where the vehicle is stuck, if it’s on or immediately next to a public road.
Delivery
Delivery of gas, oil, a battery or tires, as necessary to return your covered vehicle back to driving condition. While delivery is covered, the cost of the items delivered are not.
Repair Labor
Up to one hour of labor to repair a covered vehicle at the place of its breakdown.
Locksmith
Up to one hour of labor for locksmith services to unlock a covered vehicle if the key is lost, stolen, or locked inside the vehicle.
Coverage
If you have Emergency Roadside Service coverage (Coverage H), you may not bear the upfront costs from a breakdown or other roadside problem. State Farm is billed directly. Note: You may incur out-of-pocket costs for replacement items such as tires, gas, and batteries.
No coverage
If you do not have Emergency Roadside Service (ERS) coverage (Coverage H), you will pay for the services. Your service cost could be less than regular market rates. Examples of service can include the cost to deliver fuel, replacement battery, or fuel.
Yes, you can request your vehicle be towed wherever you’d like. However, the Emergency Road Service coverage pays for towing to the nearest repair facility, plus an additional 10 miles, where the necessary repairs can be made if the covered vehicle is not drivable. If you choose to tow your vehicle a further distance, you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket for additional mileage incurred as a result of choosing to tow a vehicle beyond the covered distance and/or for any non-covered service.
